Commitment to Diversity

Clubs & Organizations | Diversity Council | Student Diversity

Diversity within a learning institution is more than just numbers of people from various backgrounds. It is a total commitment to an open academic and social environment that promotes academic quality, social tolerance, and recognition of different points of view.

A campus that practices and celebrates diversity creates a culture which results in a climate of inclusion rather than exclusion, where people are involved in education, working together for the common good. Modeling diversity promotes an environment of academic excellence where all faculty, students and staff feel welcome and at home to the point of having a personal stake in, or loyalty to, their campus and a desire to make it the best that it can be. In response to this climate, we as an institution will enhance diversity using [many] strategies.
