Transfer Credit Evaluations
Transfer credit evaluations are completed only after a student has been admitted to ACC. To have transcripts evaluated, an official transcript must be ordered and sent DIRECTLY to ACC from the issuing institution(s). Please note: a hand-delivered transcript (even in a sealed envelope) is considered “unofficial” and will not be evaluated for transfer credit.
Once the official transcript has been received, credits will be evaluated and accepted based on the following guidelines:
- Only credits directly applicable to a student’s declared major/program at ACC will be accepted.
- No more that 45 credits will be accepted.
- Courses must have a grade of "C-"or better to be accepted.
- Some courses more than six years old may not be accepted. (e.g. Computer courses and science courses in the Health Profession programs)
- Only courses taught from an academic area offered at ACC will be accepted. (e.g., ACC does not offer a Social Work program, so Social Work courses would be accepted in transfer)
- Courses must be considered college level. (developmental courses will not be accepted)
- Courses must be from an institution that meets our standards of academic rigor. (Generally, credits are accepted from most institutions possessing Regional Accreditation; some exceptions may apply and will be addressed on a case-by-case basis).
Students will receive an e-mail confirmation at their school email address only that the transcripts were received and evaluated. After receiving this notification, students may log in to the ED system and view their unofficial transcript to determine what courses and credits have been accepted. After reviewing the evaluation guidelines listed above, any student with questions about the transcript evaluation process, my contact the Transcript Evaluator at 303.797.5630 or eric.rogers@arapahoe.edu for further clarification and discussion.
