Getting to Know WCP

Workforce & Community Programs offers a variety of programs to serve the members of our community. While most of you are familiar with our community classes, you may not know about other services we offer within our department. That's why we've decided to update you on what each of us does.

The past few months have been a time of growth and change. We’re happy to welcome some new faces to our team. At the same time, we say goodbye to a valuable member of our WCP Family.
 

Jaime treadwellName: Jaime Treadwell

Describe your role at WCP: My role in the WCP Office is Workforce Navigator. I specifically support our COSI Back to Work Grant or Career Forward program. I am tasked with supporting students with low to high COVID Impacts related to job or income loss and plans to complete their ACC studies by the end of the Grant cycle--Spring 2024. We have been extended in the past, so don't hold us to that end date.

What are your next career plans? Recently, I submitted my resignation for this Navigator role to accept a new opportunity as a Training Coordinator with a Software Consultant Enterprise.

What was your dream job as a child? Camp Counselor

If you wrote a book about your life outside of work, what would you title it? Here, There, And Everywhere: The Adventures of Nacho and Mama!
 

Amanda OlmedoName: Amanda Olmedo

Describe your role at WCP: My position is the Operations Coordinator and that entails assisting with daily management of operations within the office and supporting all WCP programs.

What was your dream job as a child? I wanted to be an engineer as a child.

If you wrote a book about your life outside of work, what would you title it? I'm Coming Home


 

Ben WarnerName: Ben Warner

Describe your role at WCP: I work with the Colorado Health Careers Collaborative at ACC, supporting high school students as they explore future career paths.

What was your dream job as a child? I wanted to be a famous singer

If you wrote a book about your life outside of work, what would you title it? Exploring the Great Outdoors
 

Keysha BoggessName: Keysha Boggess

Describe your role at WCP: I oversee our healthcare and public service apprenticeship programs. I collaborate with our employer partners to deliver exceptional programming for ACC apprentices.  

What was your dream job as a child? Talk Show Host

If you wrote a book about your life outside of work, what would you title it? Weekends are for sunshine, bees, and the people I love.
 

Cindy NowakName: Cindy Nowak

Describe your role at WCP: My part-time role at WCP is to assist employers interested in applying for OEDIT's Skill Advance Grants and monitor and manage approved grants through closeout. I am responsible for building relationships with employers and promoting ACC's education, training, and expertise. In addition, it is my job to find contract trainers/facilitators in a variety of subjects to help train onsite at employer locations. I also coordinate employer events for WCP.

What was your dream job as a child? My dream job as a young girl was to be a dancer on Broadway.

If you wrote a book about your life outside of work, what would you title it? Don't try to be Superwoman - you will regret it!


Jayne ReiterName: Jayne Reiter

Describe your role at WCP: AmeriCorps member, serving for one year. Focused on special projects to build the capacity of the college to connect low-income students to obtain workforce training & skills to increase employment.

What was your dream job as a child? Anything in the big city.

If you wrote a book about your life outside of work, what would you title it? Gone with the wind
 

Gabby MabryName: Gabby Mabry

Describe your role at WCP: I'm a student employee, so I answer phones and emails, help people register for classes, and work at the front desk.

What was your dream job as a child? I wanted to be a lawyer

If you wrote a book about your life outside of work, what would you title it? I'll finish my book tomorrow.

 

Chris KolakowskiName: Chris Kolakowski

Describe your role at WCP: I provide support to community education students and the WCP team.

What was your dream job as a child? A geologist

If you wrote a book about your life outside of work, what would you title it? I Wrote a Book!


 

Ivana HillisName: Ivana Hillis

Describe your role at WCP: I create the weekly WCP newsletter and WCP flyers. I handle social media and instructor pay, and help ensure operations run smoothly.

What was your dream job as a child? An actress

If you wrote a book about your life outside of work, what would you title it? Loud & Proud
 

Ashley MaloneyName: Ashley Maloney

Describe your role at WCP: As a Program Manager for Apprenticeship Programs, I coordinate with employers, community organizations, and college instructional and student service departments to develop and facilitate earn-while-you-learn apprenticeship programs. I currently focus on apprenticeship programs for Technology and Business occupations.

What was your dream job as a child? Throughout my life and starting very young, I've had a common theme for my dream job which is to help people. My first dream job at age 5 was to be a waitress and progressed from then until high school to be a flight attendant, nurse practitioner, social worker, then teacher.

Bri Barnes-EldertName: Bri Barnes-Eldert

Describe your role at WCP: My role in WCP is the Program Manager of the Colorado Health Careers Collaborative. The Collaborative works with partners in industry, k-12, and community-based organization to break down barriers to employment and provide career exploration.

What was your dream job as a child? Park Ranger

If you wrote a book about your life outside of work, what would you title it? Baked with Bri - all the things I cook and bake in the kitchen!
 

 

Shao YeungName: Shao Yeung

Describe your role at WCP: My role at ACC is the Director of Employer Engagement and Apprenticeships at the college. I help support the Workforce and Community Programs department in connecting with employer partners to create customized training opportunities and apprenticeship programs.

What was your dream job as a child? Shaolin Monk

If you wrote a book about your life outside of work, what would you title it? Little Clear Tree, 杨小清
 

Amber TolliverName: Amber Tolliver

Describe your role at WCP: I support our team in their excellent work toward creating programming for community members of all ages to learn, play and grow with us!

What was your dream job as a child? I wanted to be a third grade teacher or a corporate bigwig.

If you wrote a book about your life outside of work, what would you title it? Sun Chaser
 

Julie Beggs

Name: Julie Beggs

Describe your role at WCP: I serve as the Dean for Workforce and Community Programs. I provide vision, strategy, short- and long-term goals, budgets, policies, and leadership for the administration of all workforce, community programs, as well as contribute to the overall instructional division mission and outcomes that align with the Colorado Community College System (CCCS) and ACC goals.

What was your dream job as a child? I didn't really have one. I was involved in a lot of performing arts activities like dancing and singing, but never really thought I would perform for a living. I do remember pretend and play times choosing to be a teacher.

If you wrote a book about your life outside of work, what would you title it? Midwest Girl Making Her Way
