Energy Solar Photovoltaic Systems Technician Certificate

CIP 150503 (SPVS)

This certificate program is designed to provide the student with the knowledge and skills required to work as an entry-level technician for a photovoltaic (PV) dealer, Installer, or Contractor. In this course of study, the student is introduced to basic electrical theory, system design criteria, installation methods, safety considerations and maintenance practices through classroom study and field work applications. This certificate is beneficial to individuals who plan to be employed in or who currently work in the solar PV industry.

NOTE: There will be a math pre-test with math skills needed for PV addressed in EIC 105. Math will be incorporated throughout the program with math problems and examples in notebook and coursework.

Graduation Requirements

• To graduate, students must apply for graduation and complete the graduation survey (available via myACC). (form available at www.arapahoe.edu/graduation)
• After applying for graduation, all correspondence to a student about the status of their program conferral will be sent to their student email address only.
• As a graduate of a Career and Technical Education program you will be contacted by an ACC employee in approximately six months to verify your employment information. This information gathering is a federal requirement to ensure that ACC receives certain federal funding.
