Green Thumb Flower Workshops at The Hudson Gardens & Event Center
Enjoy the beauty of the season strolling through the beautiful gardens of The Hudson Gardens & Event Center. These classes are taught by gardening and art professionals. You may view the gardens from 4-5 pm prior to your class session. Check in at the Gift Shop and identify yourself as an ACC class participant for that day. Additionally, meet your instructor 10 minutes prior to the class start time at the gazebo located in front of the gift shop at the main parking area. Classes are held in the Hudson Residence, a one-story home located northwest of the gazebo..garden tools

Design a wonderfully fragrant holiday arrangement with a mix of fresh evergreens and candles. The theme is up to you, it can be a traditional Santa and Sleigh or a Colorado classic using a mix of pine cones, branches and ribbons.

Wyatt M. Rogers, Jr. has more than 35 years experience in the energy field as an engineering consultant and project manager. He has authored numerous articles and reports concerning renewable and conventional energy for industrial, governmental and Indian tribal clients. He has organized and moderated several large conventions and conferences concerning renewable energy technologies and applications.

Explore future reliability of mineral energy sources and the best alternatives for our planet.
Philip Skergan has an MS degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering and has studied renewable energy for 25 years. He writes and lectures on energy in Colorado and speaks at energy-related conferences.

Discover the four step design process from developing a program of needs, a budget range, and a base plan; to designing a master area, or project landscape plan; and develop a cost estimate and a phasing schedule. Explore basic Xeriscape fundamentals; site and circulation system planning; selection of construction materials and methods; selection and design with plants and lawns; the use of recommended plant lists; selection of mulches; designing efficient irrigation and lighting systems; and discuss planning for the establishment period and long-range maintenance operations for your project.
Tom Stephens, Landscape Architect of his own company, specializes in challenging and unusual landscape architectural projects in the Rocky Mountain region. For more than 40 years, Tom has presented over courses, seminars, workshops, and lectures on a variety of landscape topics and authored/co-authored books and articles on the subject.

Interior Design Studio Class

You’ve completed the beginning exercises, gained an understanding of the principles of good interior design, color theory and color psychology, lighting, grouping accessories. Now have some real fun working like a designer on a full design project! Create a set of design drawings, color solutions, fabrics and accessories, furniture combinations, etc. for a complete solution. Work on a project, participate in team discussions, make presentations, and get advice as needed from an awarded and certified professional. Prerequisite: Must have completed the Beginning Interior Design class within the last year.

How to Create Beautiful Walls
and Furniture Through Faux!

From blah to beautiful, turn your walls, furniture, picture frames and even waste baskets into unique creative expressions. Practice the basics-sponging, ragging, color wash/glazing in addition to troweling and Venetian Plaster. Marbling and tissue techniques round out the classes. Come prepared the first night to take notes. A supply list will be covered the first night.
Bobbi Shupe is an award winning illustrator and owner of a decorative painting company for over 18 years. She is experienced in faux finishing, murals, and illustrative work.
