GOLF
Golf for Beginning and Intermediate Levels

Get lots of personal attention in these small classes. Learn golf fundamentals (grip, stance, posture, alignment) and train yourself to swing with graceful power, balance and accuracy. Understand the basics of woods, irons, pitching, putting and chipping. Clubs are provided if needed. Class includes PGA or LPGA instruction and driving range balls. Wear loose clothing, tennis shoes or golf shoes with soft spikes.
Tim Taylor has been in the golf industry for over 25 years as a collegiate player, coach, and assistant pro. He has won 4 different Long Drive Contests and coordinates junior golf programs and coaches boys and girls high school golf teams.

Finding Your Roots on the Internet: Genealogy at its Best!

Today searching for one’s ancestors is a much less tedious job with all the material on the Internet. Learn how to find free databases. Learn what documents are must haves. Keeping your information organized is no small task; there are ways to minimize spinning your wheels. Class meets a total of 4 times and includes one field trip and some hands-on computer work. Finding one or more of your ancestors is almost guaranteed.

Indoor Climbing for Adults

Have you ever wanted to learn to rock climb? Get started in this indoor rock wall environment. Discover the basics of equipment, techniques and skills related to rock climbing on a “realistic rock wall” of 35 feet. Explore ropes, knots, belaying and other climbing techniques before you tackle the outside world.

FLY FISHING
Nymphs and Knots! The Fun of Fly Fishing
— Alan Reyes
Get a jump-start on learning to Fly Fish before the summer season begins. Fly Fishing is a great sport and it can be learned easily if you know the challenges. Discuss equipment, simple knots to learn, casting, how to rig your line for catching fish, insect and trout behavior, and how to read the water and spot fish. Learn how to fish nymphs, dry flies and streamers. Use our equipment or bring your own. For beginners or if you want to spruce-up your skills.
Alan Reyes is a licensed, professional Fly Fishing guide and works for Trout Trips, LLC, a Fly Fishing Guide and Instruction Service based in Denver.

HUNTING
Hunter Safety

If you were born after January 1, 1949, you must take this course to hunt with a bow or rifle in Colorado. The Colorado Division of Wildlife teaches survival skills using map and compass, firearm and archery safety, hunting ethics and game care. To receive a hunting license, a Hunter Safety Card must be presented. Safety cards will be awarded only if all classes are attended. Plan ahead and register early. Courses fill quickly. Minimum recommended age is 10 years. There will be special range dates for youth under 12. * A map will be mailed to you.

The Options of Travel through House Exchange

Whether you have a house, condo, or vacation home, house exchanging might be the answer to your wish to travel while saving on the major expense -accommodations. Learn to travel as a native, not as a tourist. What a great way to visit foreign countries! House exchanging is not for everyone. Get all of your questions answered to help decide if this adventure in travel is something you might like to try.
Mary Schreiner and her husband have done 27 house exchanges, both domestically and overseas. Mary enjoys sharing her enthusiasm and expertise with those who have questions and concerns about exchanging houses.

motorcycleMOTORCYCLES

Motorcycle Training
— Abate Staff

These courses follow the Motorcycle Safety Foundation curriculum and are taught by instructors from ABATE of Colorado. For all motorcycle classes, helmets, full-fingered gloves, long-sleeved shirt, long pants, eye protection, as well as sturdy, over the ankle shoes are required for all riding sessions. Loaner helmets are available for use in the class. Pre-registration and prepayment are required. Courses meet on the many weekends at Arapahoe Community College. Students who do not cancel within 48 business hours of the course will not receive a tuition refund or date transfer.

BASIC RIDER COURSE
Is a 15 hour courses designed for the new rider. Begin with the most basic information on motorcycle controls and operation and continue to include modules on street strategies, obstacle avoidance and braking skills. Motorcycles are provided. The Basic Rider Course is mentally and physically demanding. Be prepared. Recent bicycle riding experience is assumed.

The Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles accepts successful completion of this class for the skills and written tests for your Motorcycle Endorsement. Proof of successful completion must be taken to the DMV to receive an endorsement. A valid Colorado driver’s license or instructional permit is required. Students under 18 years of age must have parent sign a liability waiver prior to the class. The State of Colorado requires individuals less than 18 years of age to hold a motorcycle instructional permit for one year prior to obtaining a full endorsement.

EXPERIENCED RIDER COURSE
Is a 6 1/2 hour course, conducted on a Saturday from noon-6:30 p.m. and is designed for the licensed rider with a year or more road experience. The course is conducted on the participant’s own motorcycle. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation curriculum concentrates on those skills found lacking in the accident-involved rider. This is an accelerated course. Be prepared. You will be tested at the end of the course and can obtain your completion card for license endorsement. A valid motorcycle license is required for enrollment. Participants must provide current registration and proof of insurance. Your motorcycle must be in good running order, have a fresh and fully charged battery, good tires, and good working brakes. Bikes will be checked as well as a motorcycle endorsement and current insurance card. Without these items, you may not attend the class.
