ARA 212—Arabic Language IV – 3 credits
- Prerequisite: ARA 111 (Arabic I) or instructor permission
- Textbook: Ahlan – Wa Salan, by Sahlad, Yale University Press, with audio CDs (copies of CDs to be purchased from ACC media department)
- Student Competencies: Upon completion of this course the student at the intermediate low level should be able to:
- Participate in extended discussion, with increased accuracy in pronunciation, idioms, and grammar.
- Describe and narrate normal events.
- Read and comprehend literary selections at the appropriate time.
- Write the Arabic language so as to convey preferences based on personal experiences.
- Be aware of geographical and cultural differences within the Arabic language areas.
- Appreciate the cultural differences between the Arabic language cultures and non-Arabic cultures.
