GRK 106 – Beginning Ancient Greek II – 3 credits
- Prerequisite: GRK 105 or instructor permission
- Required Materials:
- Course Objectives: to help students develop increased proficiency in listening, speaking, writing and especially reading Ancient Greek
- Student Competencies: Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
- Comprehensibly reproduce the pronunciation and intonation of Ancient Greek
- Demonstrate understanding of elementary oral statements, instructions and questions
- Demonstrate increased knowledge of vocabulary, grammar and syntax in elementary interchanges
- Use appropriate vocabulary, grammar and syntax in writing elementary statements and short compositions
- Demonstrate ability to read and comprehend more advanced texts for translation from Greek to English.
- Demonstrate continued understanding and appreciation of the culture of ancient Greece.
- Demonstrate ability to observe, analyze and synthesize linguistic and cultural information in context.
