Course Objectives: The objectives of this course are to provide the students with the opportunity:
- To continue to acquire more advanced knowledge of Spanish grammar and syntax.
- To practice more aural, oral, reading and writing skills.
- To practice more sophisticated translations from English to Spanish and Spanish to English.
- To learn more about Spanish speaking countries and their relationship and interactions to the rest of the world.
Student Performance Objectives: Upon completion of this intermediate level course, the student should be able to:
- Participate in class and small group discussions with increased precision in pronunciation, idiomatic expressions, and grammar.
- Describe events through narration.
- Read and comprehend literary selections at the intermediate-advanced level.
- Have an increased awareness of cultural and geographical differences within the target cultures and the American culture.
- Appreciate the cultural differences between the target cultures and American culture.
