Computer Aided Drafting
Degree and Certificate Requirements
2008-09 Catalog

Certificate
The Computer Aided Drafting Certificate program is for individuals who seek in-depth training on a CAD System as an automated drafting tool. Individuals will be introduced to computer literacy, AutoCAD software, icons, libraries, slides, 3-D applications, customizing, programming and plotting.

Major Courses (22 credit hours)
*CAD 101 Computer Aided Drafting I 3 credits
CAD 102 Computer Aided Drafting II 3 credits
CAD 201 Computer Aided Drafting/Custom 3 credits
CAD 202 Computer Aided Drafting/3D 3 credits
CAD 249 AutoLISP Programming 3 credits
CIS 118 Introduction to PC Applications 3 credits
MAT 108 Technical Mathematics or higher 4 credits
Portfolio of related work experience OR Drafting/Design elective:
Select one of the following groups: (6-10 credits)

ARC 101 Introduction to Drawing 5 credits
ARC 102 Residential Architecture 5 credits
Group B:
MGD 117 Introduction to Visual Communications 3 credits
MGD 207 Illustration I 3 credits
