Mission Statement
The Mission of the Foreign Languages Department is to provide a learning centered environment to help students develop an awareness and appreciation of diverse cultures, and a working knowledge of foreign language(s) with the ability to communicate in authentic situations for a successful participation in a global environment and an international job market.

Placement Testing
- CAPE – Computer Adaptive Placement Exam - is available for French and Spanish at no charge. To take the CAPE go to:

The CAPE can also be taken in the Testing Center at ACC (2nd floor)
- A placement test for Japanese III and IV is also available in the Testing Center (second floor).
Tutoring
Peer Tutoring and Professional Tutoring Center is available in Student Success Center, Room M2720, free of charge for students enrolled in a foreign language class. Check with the Student Success Center for tutor availability.
Foreign Language Day
A great and fun opportunity for foreign languages students to get together and share their knowledge of a language and their appreciation of a culture with ACC community at large.
