Astronomy

Instructors for Introduction to Astronomy. Master’s Degree in Physical Science with graduate work in Astronomy. Contact Henry Weigel 303.797.5831.

Automotive Technology Program

The Automotive Department is in need of qualified instructors.

  • Five (5) years of industry experience and relevant industry certifications are the minimum requirements.

Biology

Part-time instructors needed for teaching a variety of subjects including Human Biology, Science of Biology, and Human Anatomy and Physiology. Instructors with experience teaching Anatomy and Physiology are in particular demand. Responsibilities include: instruction, student assessment, occasional curriculum development, and other related instructional duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university/or equivalent in biology or closely related field
  • Eighteen graduate credit hours in biology or related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree from an accredited college/university in biology or closely related field
  • Postsecondary teaching experience
  • Experience with diverse populations
  • Understanding and commitment to the philosophy, role, and mission of a community college.

Computer Science and Information Systems

These part-time instructors are responsible for classroom teaching a variety of subjects including Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, A+, Networking, Security, Programming, and Oracle Database Administration curriculum. Responsibilities include: instruction, curriculum development and evaluation, advising students, student follow-up and placement, textbook selection, and other related instructional duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university/or equivalent.
  • Three years of full-time work experience

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certifications MCSE, CompTIA, A+ where appropriate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field with major emphasis in computers from an accredited college/university.
  • Work experience in a computer information systems related field.
  • Experience with diverse populations.
  • Work experience in a community college setting.
  • Understanding and commitment to the philosophy, role, and mission of a community college.

Math

Part-time instructors needed to teach MAT 030, Fundamentals of Mathematics and MAT 060, PreAlgebra.   Responsibilities include: instruction, student assessment, and other related instructional duties.

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university/or equivalent in mathematics, mathematics education or closely related field

Meteorology

Multi-Media/Graphic Design

Maya Instructor
Instruct students in 3D computer animation using Maya in a well-equipped face-to-face computer lab; Saturdays. Appropriate industry experience required.

Digital Animatics Instructor
Instruct students in digital animatics using ToonBoom Studio in a well-equipped face-to-face computer lab; Monday and Wednesday afternoons. Appropriate industry experience required.

The Nursing Department seeks qualified part-time instructors for Clinicals:
CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR

  • Medical/Surgical Nursing -- Requires Master’s degree in Nursing, or BSN with ACC course faculty supervision. Minimum two years of clinical experience and current Colorado nursing license. Paralegal

The Paralegal Department is seeking experienced attorneys or experienced paralegals to act as part-time instructors to teach in our ABA-approved program. Openings may be for Fall 2009 or for 2010. Please send a resume and cover letter with the following information:

  • Your education and experience, specifically indicating your experience training, supervising, or working with paralegals;
  • The classes in our curriculum in which you have practice area experience (please see http://www.arapahoe.edu/courses/par.html for course descriptions); and
  • Whether you are available to teach evenings, days, or both.

Pharmacy Technician Program

Arapahoe Community College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach the Institutional Pharmacy course within the ASHP accredited Pharmacy Technician Program. This is a five week course offered in a hybrid format with theory online and labs on Tuesdays/Thursdays. Licensed Pharmacists and Certified Pharmacy Technicians are encouraged to apply. Certified Pharmacy Technicians must have 2-5 years current work experience in a hospital pharmacy and be a graduate of a pharmacy technician program. Reading

Part-time instructors needed to teach REA 060, Foundations of Reading and REA 090, College Preparatory Reading. Responsibilities include: instruction, student assessment, and other related instructional duties.

  • A Master's degree from an accredited college/university/or equivalent in education, reading or English.
  • Teaching experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Developmental Studies teaching experience
  • Experience with diverse populations

1. Lecture Classes: $629.14 per credit hour

2. Lecture/Lab: $943.09 per credit hour

3. Lecture/Clinical: $796.08 per credit hour

4. Practicum: Negotiable
