(June 16, 2010 - Littleton, CO) – The Colorado Gallery of the Arts at Arapahoe Community College will accept submissions for the Kaleidoscope art exhibition on Saturday, July 10, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Judging will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Art not accepted may be picked up the same day from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The exhibition will run from July 12 through August 5.
Media accepted include ceramics, drawings, jewelry, glass, metals, mixed media, paintings, photography, sculpture and wood. The cost is $10 per entry (must be cash). No checks or credit cards can be accepted. The actual work must be submitted (no slides), and there is no limit on the number of entries per artist.
Two-dimensional artwork must be ready to hang in a frame with glass and a wire properly installed on the back. No artwork with saw tooth hangers or wet paintings will be accepted. Extremely fragile work must be in a protective frame or case. Artwork will be hung with nails only, no screws.
Three-dimensional work must be very stable and fit on a 17x17 pedestal. The work needs to be light enough for one person to move. Clear lids will only be used on jewelry displays.
The Colorado Gallery of the Arts reserves the right to refuse any work deemed too fragile or inappropriate. Art may be dropped off and picked up at the Colorado Gallery of the Arts, located at Arapahoe Community College, 5900 S. Santa Fe Drive, Littleton, CO, 80120.
