TRiO Educational Talent Search at Arapahoe Community College accepting students for fall classes

TRiO assists students in need and in grades six-twelve

(July 27, 2010 - Littleton, Colorado) – TRiO Educational Talent Search is a federal program that helps increase the number of students who complete high school and enroll in a post-secondary education institution of their choice. According to federal law, entry into the TRiO program is designed for students whose family income does not exceed government guidelines and whose parents have not obtained a four-year degree. The TRiO Educational Talent Search program is free to all eligible students.

Prospective students for the TRiO program at ACC can register at the following locations and times:

Denver Public Schools

Kepner Middle School                            August 2, 3, 4, 5
Kunsmiller Creative Arts Academy      August 11, 12
Abraham Lincoln High School             July 31, August 7, 12
John F. Kennedy High School              August 3, 4, 5

Sheridan School District

Sheridan Middle School                        August 4, 5, 6

Englewood School District

Englewood Middle School                    August 4, 5
Englewood High School                       August 11

TRiO Educational Talent Search serves students in grades six through twelve.  The program provides academic, career and financial aid counseling. Students participate in grade-specific career exploration, college planning activities and campus visits, course planning and scholarship information. Persons under the age of 27 who need help re-entering the educational system are also eligible.
