Pump Pumpkins to Support ACC’s Fitness Center

(October 19, 2010 – Littleton, Colorado) – Are you tired of the same old boring workouts? Then check out Arapahoe Community College’s Fourth Annual Pumpkin Boot Camp at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 30 and have fun while supporting a good cause.

Pumpkin Boot CampThe Pumpkin Boot Camp is an hour long total body workout that uses pumpkins to do sit ups, push ups, shoulder raises and much more. The event is hosted by ACC’s Fitness Center and Holistic Health and benefits the ACC Foundation Fitness Center Fund.

“ACC has been a great partner for so many years that I want to raise money to support their fitness center and repair their floor.  And what better way to do it than with our most hilarious workout of the year,” said Holistic Health Director Priscilla Friedlander.

This year’s boot camp theme is the 1980s so participants are encouraged to dress in ’80s workout wear. Prizes will also be awarded for the best costumes.

Participants will need to bring one 6-10 pound pumpkin. The suggested donation is $25 to the ACC Foundation.  All donations are tax deductible. After the workout, participants can enjoy healthy, post-workout Halloween treats prepared by Friedlander and her staff. The event is open to anyone three years of age and older.

For those who cannot participate but are interested in sponsoring the event, online donations may be made at https://ssl.boulder.net/arapahoe/securedonation.html and earmark it “Pumpkins.”  If you would like to reserve a spot, please contact Priscilla Friedlander at 720.951.0101 or register at www.meetup.com/missfits.
