(October 27, 2011 - Littleton, Colorado) The “4 Year 4 You” tour is visiting all of Colorado’s public community colleges during the week of Oct. 31 in an effort to increase the number of community college students transferring to four-year colleges or universities.
"4 Year 4 You" is scheduled to come to Arapahoe Community College on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 2, from 2:15 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. in the Littleton Campus second floor student lounge.
The tour will highlight new programs designed to make the transition from two-year institution to four-year school more transparent and accessible – helping to ensure that students can achieve their educational goals.
Volunteers will talk with students about guaranteed admission to four-year schools, dual enrollment and other transfer programs.
Stephen Ludwig, a former community college student and current University of Colorado Regent, is organizing the tour with donors and volunteers. Tour partners are College in Colorado, a program of the Colorado Department of Higher Education; the Colorado Community College System office; the presidents of Colorado’s public community colleges; and the Public Education Business Coalition, a non-profit partnership of Colorado's education and business leaders.
The "4 Year 4 You" tour has two goals. The first is to provide students with information they need to help them reach their educational goals. The second is to let the public know that community colleges are a great place to start a college career.
