(March 25, 2011 – Littleton, Colorado) – The Alchemy Society at Arapahoe Community College (ACC) will host Captain Vic’s Science Buffet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. April 1 in the College’s cafeteria. The event will feature science demonstrations by Captain Vic followed by hands-on experiments and projects.
Denver native Vic Meisinger, also known as “Captain Vic” The Science Wizard, earned his nickname as a professional helicopter pilot while fling for the U.S. Army, St. Anthony’s Flight for Life Service, Channel 9 and 7 television stations as well as his own commercial helicopter charter. Upon retiring from flying, Captain Vic began work as a contract science enrichment instructor.
ACC’s Alchemy Society aims to promote awareness and interest in chemistry and the chemical professions and to enhance the involvement of the students and our local community in chemistry and chemistry-related disciplines.
The Science Buffet is open to the public. The cost is $1 for children five and older and free for those under five. The ACC cafeteria is located on the first floor of the main building.
