ACC to Open Campus in Castle Rock

(February 17, 2011 – Littleton, Colorado) - Arapahoe Community College (ACC) President Diana Doyle announced today that the College will be opening a campus in Castle Rock to further meet the growing needs of its students. The 7,800-square-foot facility will be located at 4700 Castleton Way in Castle Rock. ACC expects to open its doors to students by the fall 2011.

“ACC is committed to providing innovative, accessible, and affordable education,” said President Doyle. “We are excited to be opening our third campus and to be able to provide the Castle Rock community with the opportunity to take classes close to their home.”

ACC currently has two campuses – one in Littleton and one in Parker. The new Castle Rock campus plans to offer courses in five categories: associate of arts and associate of science transfer programs, career and technical education, workforce training, concurrent enrollment for high school students, and community education. The college also will be offering guaranteed transfer courses which are the basic requirement classes necessary to obtain a bachelor's degree at a four-year institution.

ACC is partnering with the City of Castle Rock to open the Castle Rock campus. Renovations to the facility will begin in March.  The space will include five classrooms, two computer labs and will feature state-of-the-art technology.

Founded in 1965, ACC was the first two-year college to open in the greater Denver area. ACC currently serves 18,000 credit and non-credit students each year. The College offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs and, as member of the Colorado Community College System, offers the lowest tuition among state-funded schools in Colorado.
