(March 24, 2011 – Littleton, Colorado) - The Writers Studio at Arapahoe Community College (ACC) is pleased to announce the winners of fifth Writers Studio Literary Contest for unpublished work in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. First-place winners will be awarded a $250 prize and will be published in the national literary journal, Many Mountains Moving: a literary journal of diverse contemporary voices. First-place winners will be guests at the Writers Studio Literary Festival on April 30 where they will read their work. Second place winners will also be guests at the Festival.

Fiction - First Place: Blue River, Blue by Carl Bock, Loveland, CO; Second Place: Sled Lake Revisited by Darryl Halbrooks, Westcliffe, CO
Nonfiction - First Place: Whores by Carolyn Campbell, Evergreen, CO; Second Place: The Doll’s Room by Anita Jepson-Gilbert, Westminster, CO
Poetry - First Place: Because Sometimes I Get that no Gets Me Nowhere by Rosemerry Trommer, Placerville, CO; Second Place: Reanimation Experiment: Final Observations by Kathleen Willard, Fort Collins, CO
