(May 23, 2011– Littleton, Colorado) - The creative works of students taking art courses through the Community Education program at Arapahoe Community College will be on exhibit May 31 through June 24 in the College’s Colorado Gallery of the Arts. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. May 31.
This art exhibit, juried by Vicki Rottman, a sculptor from Denver, will feature artwork by teachers and adult students produced in a variety of ACC’s non-credit art courses in 2010 and 2011. The pieces on exhibit include paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography and other art. Josefina Tuason, exhibit coordinator, said the art show is a rare opportunity for students to display their creative works. “They are fortunate to receive this kind of encouragement, and Community Education is very pleased to play a role in the development of their craft,” Tuason said.
The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The gallery is located on the first floor of the College's Annex building at 5900 S. Santa Fe Drive in Littleton. For more information, call Josefina Tuason at 303.522.3500 or the Colorado Gallery of the Arts at 303.797.5649.
