Littleton Residents Encouraged to Share their Wisdom

(March 15, 2011 – Littleton, Colorado) - Arapahoe Community College (ACC) and the Milestone Project kicked off a new initiative today, called A Community of Wisdom. A Community of Wisdom is a city-wide collaboration in Littleton demonstrating that all citizens, no matter their age, have wisdom in their heads and hearts.

From March 15 through May 6, Littleton community members are encouraged to pick up a “wise owl” postcard at participating locations and answer the two questions on the back, “What is a bit of wisdom you received as a child?” and “What is a bit of wisdom you would like to pass along to a child?” The owls will be hung on wisdom trees constructed at ACC, the Buck Center, the Bemis Library and various locations throughout Littleton.

The initiative will culminate with a community celebration hosted by ACC on May 6. Selected wisdom from the wise owl postcards will be read at the celebration by local celebrities. Participants will also have the opportunity to enter into a drawing for a copy of the new Milestones book, Wise at Heart.

Wise owl postcards can be found at ACC, the Milestones Project, Bemis Public Library, Buck Recreation Center, Colorado Business Bank, Details Boutique, Doctors’ Care, Hot Pots, JaJa Bistro, Couture Kid, Las Huertas, Lola’s Sugar Rush, Littleton Public Schools, Savory Spice Shop, South Suburban Parks and Recreation –Buck Center and Willow – An Artisan Market.
