In compliance with the “Timely Notice” provisions of the Federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, the Arapahoe Community College is issuing notice of a suspicious incident.
REPORTED INCIDENT: On May 20, 2011, the ACC Campus Police Department was notified of a suspicious incident. An anonymous person had placed a comment on a website, stating that he or she was going to get a rifle and shoot up a high school in Littleton, and was going to beat Cho’s record. The website has since been shut down. There was no mention of a college. Officials were not able to trace the origin of the website and there is no suspect information.
Since the original information was obtained this morning, there has been a bomb threat called into Arapahoe County Courthouses and those buildings have been evacuated. At this time it is unknown if these two incidents are connected.
ACC Campus Police has increased patrols of the Arapahoe Community College campus in Littleton.
REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: The Arapahoe Community College urges everyone to use caution on and off campus and to stay aware of their surroundings at all times. Please report any suspicious activity, behavior or persons to the Campus Police Department at 303-797-5800 or 911.
