Types of Financial Aid

ACC offers all forms of federal, state and institutional aid based on your financial aid application (FAFSA) on a first come, first served basis.  Some funds run-out quickly so it is in every students best interest to apply as early in the year as possible.  All students applying before May 1 will be given equal consideration for all forms of aid available.  Types of aid offered at ACC include:

  • Gift assistance.  This is also known as free aid which students do not need to repay
    • includes grants from state, federal and institutional sources.
  • Self-help:  comprised of work study and/or loans.  Students receiving aid under these programs have an obligation to work for the aid given (work study) or repay the aid (loans).
