(October 28, 2009, - Littleton, CO) Community members and faculty, staff and students at Arapahoe Community College can get a great work out in a unique way this fall. On Wednesday, Oct 28, the ACC Fitness Center will host its annual Pumpkin Boot Camp and Pumpkin Fitness Fundraiser to support breast cancer awareness. The workout will start at 6 p.m., so participants should arrive at the Fitness Center by 5:45 p.m.

The Fitness Center partners with Littleton’s Holistic Health LLC., to offer MissFits Women’s Fitness Boot Camp. Head Coach Priscilla Friedlander said: Pumpkin Workout Photo"Our pumpkin boot camp has become a tradition and it’s the most hilarious workout of the year. As the weather gets colder, many people start to lose their motivation to exercise, but we have a blast! This year, we also hope our event will support breast cancer awareness."

After the workout, participants will be able to enjoy post-workout recipes that don’t expand their waistline. The suggested donation is one six to 10 pound pumpkin and a monetary amount of the participant’s choice to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

For participants who donate, ACC’s Fitness Center will also enter their names into a drawing for gifts donated by Littleton’s downtown merchants. "Everyone in the community is invited to participate," Friedlander said. “This year’s Pumpkin Boot Camp will be a memorable night for the whole family."

Anyone interested in reserving a spot for the Pumpkin Boot Camp should contact Friedlander at 720.951.0101 or e-mail her at priscilla@holistichealthco.net.
