Crime victims
can obtain assistance by contacting the City of Littleton Victim Services Unit. This unit has trained personnel available
to confidentially discuss the incident. They help the victim decide
on reporting options, make referrals to appropriate support services,
and offer victim support services. You may call directly for referral
information or talk to a person for support at 303.795.3703 or 303.795.3713.
Safety Tips
Campus safety is everyone's responsibility – do your part
by:
- Being Alert for campus crime, suspicious persons or incidents,
and safety hazards. Don't take unnecessary chances.
- Be Safety Conscious. A conscientious approach can protect you,
your belongings, fellow students and your campus.
- Be In The Know about safety precautions, emergency procedures,
and use common sense.
- Be Involved. Watch and be attentive to your surroundings and the activities
near you.
- Report Incidents. Promptly call 303.797.5800. If there is
no immediate answer, call 911.
Avoid Victimization
You are offered these few quick tips for personal safety and property
security:
- Do not hesitate to call campus police if something does not
seem or feel right.
- If you are on campus working after hours, keep office doors
locked and notify the Campus Police Department. Campus police
officers will periodically check on you and will arrange a personal
safety escort to your vehicle, if desired.
- At night, walk in groups of at least two.
- Walk with confidence, and avoid walking near bushes and parked
cars.
- Avoid isolated, poorly lit routes.
- Avoid getting into vulnerable no-exit places.
- Stay alert and trust your instincts. If you feel someone is
following you, go to a public place and ask for help.
- Familiarize yourself with the location of telephones.
- If for any reason you are apprehensive about going to your vehicle
or from one campus building to another, call the Campus
Police Department and ask for a personal safety escort.
- Exterior campus lighting is essential in creating a safe campus
environment. The parking lots and walkways are well-lit with high
sodium lights. You are encouraged to report any exterior problems
to the Physical Plant Maintenance crew during business hours,
303.797.5756 or the Campus Police Department after business hours
303.797.5800 or 303.797.5911.
- When parking, remove valuables from plain view and lock your
vehicle.
- Never leave your belongings unattended.
- Make copies of credit cards and other valuables in your wallet,
and keep them separate.
- Write your name in several places in textbooks.
- Always lock your bicycle in a bike rack. Use a quality U-shaped
lock. Register your bicycle with the Campus Police Department.
- Report all incidents and losses to police immediately.
- Report any suspicious person, activity, or disturbance to the
Campus Police Department, no matter how minor it may seem. Call
303.797.5800; if no immediate answer, call 911 or 303.797.5911.
