In this introductory seminar, we
help you identify your interests, work
related traits and skills, and clarify
values so you can make a more
informed choice about your career.
Job search techniques will also be
addressed.

Time Commitment
- Prior to class, must complete
career assessments by deadline date, lasting one to two hours
- Six hours of class time
How Do I Get Started?
- Register for the seminar by picking
up a payment slip in the Career
Center, Room M2030, and taking it
to the Cashier’s office to pay the fee.
- Return your stamped payment slip to
the Career Center. You will receive
an instruction sheet with an Internet
log on site to take the Strong Interest Inventory (SII) and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessments prior
to the first class. Complete by due date listed on this Web page.
- If you have questions, call or stop by
the Career Center in Room M2030.
- You can also register for the seminar by
credit card on the phone.

Must complete online career assessments prior to first session:
You will need to complete two assessments online by the due date listed for each class on this Web page.
- The Strong Interest Inventory (SII)
and
- The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
Assessments Will Not be scored if any
questions are left unanswered. Please read
the directions carefully.
What To Expect In The Sessions
- First session: You will receive a group
interpretation of the results of your
SII and MBTI assessments. We will show you how to use these results to develop a list of occupations to consider.
- Second session: You will take the
Career Aptitude Survey, Skills Assessment, and Values Card Sort. We will also explore your work values and skills that can transfer from one career to another.
- Third session: You will receive
an orientation to computer-based career
research, as well as books and other publications to aid in your search. Job search techniques will also be addressed. In addition, you will be given information on the ECOCIS and Choices computer
programs available in the Career Center.

Cancellation/Refund Policy
- A $30 fee will be assessed if the
assessments have been completed and
scored
- No refunds will be given after three months from the date of registration.
- If you registered for a Career Planing Seminar, but didn’t attend after six months, your registration is cancelled.
