Information for Students

  1. It is essential to know your instructor's last name, and correct spelling, the course number, and specific test number, and when requesting a test.
  2. The ITC closes promptly at the designated time. ITC personnel may refuse testing if adequate time is not allotted before closing.
  3. A Picture ID, such as a Driver's License or Student ID, must be shown when signing in.
  4. Students must sign-in for every test taken in the Testing Center.
  5. Books, notebooks, notes, etc, must be put in the bookcase before entering the Testing room. Use of books, notes, tables, calculators, dictionaries, etc. during a test are permitted only when an Instructor indicates to ITC personnel that these materials may be used. STUDENTS FOUND CHEATING WILL BE REFERRED TO THE INSTRUCTOR for action.
  6. Some tests require a Scantron Answer Sheet Form, a Bluebook, or a Mini Bluebook. These may be purchased at the bookstore or the Open Computer Lab in Room M1650 when the testing center is closed. Scantrons require a #2 pencil provided by the student. Scratch paper is available in the Center. Scantrons are now sold in the testing center.
  7. Arrangement and Telecourse students must complete half of the tests for the course by mid-term if there are no set deadline dates
  8. NO MAKE-UP OR RETAKE TESTS FROM REGULAR CLASSES will be given in the ITC during the last week of each semester. That time is reserved for Arrangement, Telecourse, and Educational Support Services testing.
  9. Plan ahead. The ITC is very busy the last two weeks of a semester. At times there are long waiting lines. Also, the increased number of students may contribute to a noisy environment making concentration difficult. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE! Plan an exam schedule spacing test-taking throughout the semester. Often Arrangement and Telecourse testing is self-paced so a course can be completed early. Check with the Instructor or course outline guide for individual deadlines.
  10. Any questions about the test material should be discussed with the course Instructor.
  11. No smoking, eating, drinking, or children are allowed in the ITC.
  12. Students may not leave the ITC while taking a test. If a student does leave, he/she may not complete the test without the instructor's permission.

Please retain these instructions for future reference. Your cooperation is requested and appreciated in order to provide efficient service.
