The Writing Center offers free one-on-one tutoring sessions for students interested in developing their writing skills. Writing Center tutors will work with students at any skill level, from any class or discipline, at any stage of the writing process. Tutorials usually focus on such areas as brainstorming, organizing ideas, developing ideas, clarifying ideas, improving sentence structure, reviewing grammar and punctuation, or documenting sources. While the Writing Center is not a proofreading or editing service, tutors are happy to work with students on proofreading strategies and understanding mechanics.
The Writing Center serves students by appointment. Though some same-day appointments may be available, we recommend students schedule appointments in advance.
