Scholarships
Scholarships are a type of financial aid that can help you pay for college. They are awarded based on academic achievement, financial need, major, and other criteria. Unlike other financial aid, scholarships don’t have to be paid back as long as you are enrolled and meet your requirements.
ACC Scholarships
Thanks to the contributions of generous donors, the ACC Foundation partners with Financial Aid to award ACC Foundation Scholarships. The ACC Foundation awards over $1 million an academic year in scholarships! Students are eligible to receive multiple scholarships.
Current and accepted ACC students are invited to apply for ACC named scholarships between November and April, but ACC also has scholarships available for all students outside of those months.
New and returning students should fill out the FAFSA or CASFA so Financial Aid can determine if you are eligible for our COSI scholarships that are awarded outside of the ACC Foundation scholarship cycle between November and April. During the fall and spring semesters, there will be a limited, general pool of scholarships for current student to apply into.
How to Apply
We recommend that you complete a FAFSA or CASFA. Attend a free FAFSA Lab if you need help. Data from the FAFSA or CASFA may help determine that you eligible for additional Foundation and institutional scholarships.
Steps to apply:
- Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)*
- Complete a scholarship application between November and April
- Filling out the general scholarship application will connect you to eligible scholarship opportunities. Be sure to check if any of those additional scholarships have additional questions. Complete all questions and forms to be in the running for the most money possible.
*Concurrent Enrollment students: please note that you are not eligible for scholarships until you have completed your high school requirements.
Requirements To Apply
- Must be a current or accepted ACC student
- Plan to be enrolled for the following Fall semester
- 2.5 cumulative GPA (incoming HS students or college transfers can use prior GPA, transcripts required)
- Plan to be at least a part-time student (6 credits or more)
These are the general requirements to apply for ACC scholarships, but some may have additional qualifications that will be listed on the scholarship application site.
If awarded, each scholarship will have their own set of requirements that will be presented to the awardee prior to the start of the semester.
