As a specialized paramedic, you will be advancing your skill set and eligible to take the Critical Care Paramedic and Community Paramedic exams, leading to endorsement in the State of Colorado at these levels.
Historically, all EMS providers in Colorado were certified, not licensed. As enacted by the legislative change SB19-242, emergency medical service providers must now be licensed and hold a four-year bachelor's degree in Health Science or a related field. Once you complete the Advanced Paramedic Practitioner BAS degree completion program, you will be eligible for licensure in the State of Colorado.
Paramedics and EMTs can practice in any clinical health facility licensed or certified by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies. This legislative change expands your opportunities to find a fulfilling career.
