This quick quiz is intended to be used as an advising tool to help students evaluate whether taking the Biology Placement Exam in lieu of taking BIO111 is in their best interest. The questions here are intended to be straight forward concept questions that a student well-versed in general biology would be able to answer correctly with very little studying. A student who can answer 8-10 of these questions correctly may be a good candidate for the Biology Placement Exam.
If a student passes the Biology Placement Test (with a 75% or better), they will be able to register directly for BIO 112 (General College Biology II), 201(Anatomy and Physiology I), 204 (Microbiology) – all of which have BIO111 as a pre-requisite course. Because the Placement test is a rigorous exam, this short list of questions will help you gauge your readiness.
