Biography

As a professional free-lance cellist, Jim Todd frequently performs with many area music ensembles, and has appeared as featured guest solo artist with the Arapahoe Philharmonic, the Denver Symphony, the MSU of Denver Symphony Orchestra, the Aurora Symphony, the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra, and the Evergreen Chamber Orchestra.

Jim has performed in concert with many touring shows including such notable artists as: Stevie Wonder, Crosby/Nash, Led Zeppelin, Yes, The Beach Boys, Ray Charles, Earth Wind and Fire, Natalie Cole, Lyle Lovett, Smokey Robinson, K.D. Lane, Richard Marx, Wynton Marsalis, Terence Blanchard, Billy Taylor, Kenny Rogers, Linda Ronstad, Rosemary Clooney, Mannheim Steamroller, Sarah Brightman, Yanni, John Tesh, Marvin Hamlisch, Tony Curtis, Rita Moreno, Jose Feliciano and Andrea Bocelli.

Additionally, he maintains a very active schedule as a teacher. Jim's teaching appointments have included serving on the faculties of Metropolitan State University of Denver, University of Colorado at Denver, and Arapahoe Community College. In addition, he maintains a private teaching studio, teaching students of all ages. He has served as guest clinician/instructor at numerous music education conferences held throughout the United States.

His album release, “Quiet Beauty”, marks Jim’s foray in composing, arranging and performing his own music. He is in demand as a studio musician, and has performed on numerous artist’s albums and recording projects that include many genres and styles of music.
