Ways You Can Support Your ACC Student
College can be a big change and comes with many emotions and challenges. Your support will help your student Move Mountains to achieve their dreams! Here are a few ways to show your support:
Let Them Lead
Teaching your ACC student to advocate for themselves and make decisions is an important part of growing up. Let them lead discussions and make decisions while still supporting and coaching them when they need it.
Get to Know ACC's Resources
Knowing the free resources available from ACC can help your student if they are struggling or just need advice or information. Some of the many free resources we offer include:
Check In On Them
Ask questions and take an interest in what they are learning. Checking in is a great way to remind them that you care about them and their education and are here for them.
Be Prepared
If you're helping your student financially, be prepared with questions and documentation to help them apply for financial aid and scholarships. Remember, students are responsible for paying their bills unless they sign a consent form to include you. This is a great time to teach them about managing finances and budgeting.

FERPA
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 restricts the release of student information to the public without the consent of the student, except for directory information.
Cost of Attendance
