ACC Nursing Ranked #1 Nationally in NCLEX Pass Rate
The Arapahoe Community College (ACC) Nursing program has attained a #1 national ranking from the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) in recognition of a 100% first-time pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) during the 2023-24 reporting period.
The NCLEX is the world’s premier nursing licensure exam and uses computerized adaptive testing technology to deliver the exam, ensuring a valid and reliable measurement of nursing competence. Over the past 10 years, ACC graduates have registered a 95.15% (667-of-701) first-time pass rate on the NCLEX, including 73-of-73 during the 2023-24 reporting period.
ACC continues to be a recognized leader in nursing education, preparing students for high demand, rewarding careers. ACC offers both AAS (Associate of Applied Science in Nursing; Registered Nurse) and RN-BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) degrees. The AAS program develops entry-level skills for employment in hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation units, and clinical settings. ACC's online RN-BSN completion program enhances students' perspective of clinical practice beyond the AAS / ADN / diploma level and enhances leadership abilities.
ACC’s Health Innovation Center offers simulated and active learning experiences to increase the pool of well-trained professionals for high-growth, high-demand healthcare jobs in south metro Denver and beyond. The Center’s simulated education spaces are used across ACC’s healthcare programs to improve functional collaboration between disciplines while preparing students to better serve patients. In fact, the Center provides students with greater opportunities to collaborate and engage in experiential learning settings that may otherwise be unattainable through clinicals or traditional instructional models.
Phase 1 of the Center, which was completed in the fall of 2024, increased classroom sizes, allowing for larger cohorts to be admitted and increasing the pipeline of well-trained healthcare professionals into the workforce. ACC is currently pursuing approvals and funding for Phase 2, which will provide additional simulation equipment and instructional spaces, as well as the continued development of interdisciplinary healthcare models. This expansion of healthcare programming is central to ACC’s mission to provide innovative and responsive educational and economic opportunities.
ACC's AAS and RN-BSN programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
