ACC Receives Over $61,000 in OER Grants
Arapahoe Community College (ACC) has been awarded $61,477 in open educational resources (OER) grant funding from the Colorado Department of Higher Education as part of a $1 million state program to expand use of OER (zero-cost, publicly available teaching and learning materials).
ACC’s funding will be used to develop OER for the Early Childhood Education and Nursing programs, incentivization of additional programs to transition towards utilizing OER materials, and the development of full “z-degrees” (zero-textbook cost degrees) that use OER exclusively.
By using OER materials, nearly 22,000 ACC students have saved more than $3 million in textbook costs since the fall of 2019. Collectively, CCCS students have saved over $18 million during the past six years with OER.
