Coronavirus Strategies -- additional instructional details
Hello faculty and instructors,
Thank you for your patience and understanding during these trying times. I understand your need for information and hopefully Diana’s email was informative.
I would like to provide some additional details that are instruction related.
Moving to Remote Delivery
Next week the deans and instructional leadership will be meeting to create a strategic plan to address how our CTE courses can be effectively delivered. Our top priority is to slow the spread of the virus through social distancing. Strategies will include limiting the number of students using CTE equipment at any given time and moving all didactic material to online delivery. We will having trainings (on campus and via WebEx) on strategies to move classes online for those that are more challenging. One question that has come up is related to ACC Online and CCCS Online courses. ACC Online courses will respect the 2-week break for students and resume class on 3/30. CCCOnline courses do not acknowledge spring break and will continue without change. Students in the CCCOnline courses have been notified.
Campus-based Services
ACC will remain open as of right now. We are asking that faculty return to campus on March 23 to work on strategies for moving courses to remote delivery and addressing the needs of our CTE programs. Watch for information on an all-college meeting for that week. As of today, we would like to continue to offer limited campus-based services such as tutoring, library, and computer labs.
Part Time Instructors (Adjuncts)
For part time instructors, if you are ill or having symptoms, please report to your program chairs. If you cannot teach, we will cover your class with a substitute.
Travel
College Travel: All out-of-state college-sanctioned travel has been cancelled until otherwise noted. In-state travel will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Personal Travel: The CDC continues to adjust their guidance on travel and so we are requesting that anyone traveling out of the state over Spring Break, report their travel information. Please use this link: https://arapahoecommunitycollege.formstack.com/forms/employee_travel_report_form. This reporting will not be used for anything other than information. Travelers will be responsible for staying current on CDC self-quarantine guidance and respond accordingly. Should you be in a position to self-quarantine, please report that as well using this link.
Once again, we appreciate your patience and assistance. Do not hesitate to reach out to me or your deans with additional questions. We tried to think of everything, but of course, you may have additional concerns.
Best,
Rebecca
