Work-Study - DO NOT REPORT Next two weeks
Hello valued work-study employees -
COVID-19 is creating many challenges. With the extension of Spring break and ACC’s temporary transition to online instruction, we have implemented changes to the work-study programs to allow students to continue to receive this important form of financial aid. We ask for your patience during this time as we continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as needed. Our goal is to make sure you have the needed financial resources you need, but have you off-campus for at least the next two weeks. ACC’s goal is to balance the health & wellness of students and exposure.
For work-study employees who have NOT YET WORKED THIS SEMESTER: Your work study position will not begin until after normal campus operations are restored. During Spring Break and the online instruction period, no work-study students will be able to report to campus for work. We understand that this may cause a hardship in some cases; unfortunately, we are not authorized to pay emergency work-study funds to students who have not yet begun working.
For work-study employees who have been working during the Spring semester: During Spring Break and the period afterwards when courses are being taught online, work-study employees WILL NOT report to campus for work. For the weeks of March 15- March 28, all work study students will be paid at their normal hourly rate for 20 hours per week. After that date, if ACC continues to need work study employees to refrain from working on campus, you will be paid your normal hourly rate for the average number of hours you have worked each pay period during the Spring semester, until such time as the normal operations of the college are resumed. An example of how we will calculate the number of hours per week is below.
Example:
Week 1: 20 hours
Week 2: 10 hours
Week 3: 15 hours
Average: 15 hours - this student would be paid for 15 hours/week until normal college services are resumed.
During this time, you will not be submitting time sheets to prevent added burden to your lives. We will be in communication to let you know when time sheet submission will resume.
This is a rapidly developing situation and we sincerely appreciate your patience while we work hard to serve you in the best possible manner. The ACC website has the most updated information and past communications.
Thank you again. Rest up these next two weeks, take care of yourself and others. If you do travel, we are asking you report it using this online form. Travel advisories are changing rapidly and may result in you having to self-quarantine before being able to return to campus.
See you soon!
