Biography
At nine years old, Gregg Ziemba was invited to the home of Ginger Baker (of seminal rock bands Cream and Blind Faith) to interview the famous musician about being a professional drummer for his school project. He started playing in bands at this same time and by high school, Gregg was teaching private drum lessons. While studying music at CU Denver, he went on his first tour drumming for the punk band Authority Zero. After graduating, he was taken under the wing of two-time Grammy Award-winning keyboardist Isaiah “Ikey” Owens, who played with Jack White, The Mars Volta, Free Moral Agents, and more. Owens produced and played with Gregg’s band, Rubedo, also hiring them to be the backing band for his solo project.
While touring nationally with Rubedo, Gregg’s drumming caught the eye of Kalyn Heffernan and she hired him to play drums in her hip hop group, Wheelchair Sports Camp. WSC quickly began to tour internationally, playing shows and festivals in Mexico City, Toronto, and in the UK on the famed Isle of White. Gregg continues to be active as a touring drummer, studio musician, and co-founder and operator of his own record label, Unit E. He enjoys teaching all levels of musicians and can dive into any style or genre.
