Academics: Start Off Strong
Resources to help you be a successful student!
- Advising - They can help with...DegreeCheck, Academic Plans, picking your major. Your Academic Advisor is your partner and guide at ACC.
- Navigate - a terrific planning tool that will let you map out your education and your plan. Login through myACC (student portal).
- Desire 2 Learn (D2L) - ACC's online learning tool. You'll use this for most, if not all, of your ACC courses. Login through myACC (student portal).
- Tutoring - Get help from faculty, instructors, and peer tutors.
- Disability Access Services - Need accommodations for your course? Work with our DAS team.
Involvement: Connect to the College Experience
Meet new people, learn new skills, have fun! Let us know what you’re interested in and we will connect you with great opportunities!
- Attend ACC events (in-person or virtually), read the MMTDs in your student email, connect on social media.
- Join Student Government Association - here to represent the student body and advocate for you
- Explore Clubs and Honors Societies - join a club or start your own
- First Year Experience (FYE) - this course is required for all new, first-time at college students and will help you build a foundation of success for your education
- Engage in class discussion, form a study group, and make friends in class
Support: We're Here to Help
Going to college can present some challenges. Check out some ACC supports you may need in your personal or professional life.
- Dean of Students Office - serves as a central hub for the support you may need outside of the classroom, including:
- Counseling - free counseling services are offered for ACC students
- Food Pantry - a resource for students in need
- Campus Police - ACC's police department helps keep all of ACC's community safe.
- ACC Fitness Center - Take care of your body and your mind through exercise. Free for ACC students.
- TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) - The TRIO SSS program provides personalized attention to first-generation and low-income students, and students with disabilities. Students are supported and empowered in their academic, personal and professional growth.

Paying for College: Finding Aid When You Need It
- Review your Financial Aid award in myACC (Student Finance page).
- Interested in student employment? We offer on-campus jobs for those who qualify for work study funds (a form of financial aid) and some hourly jobs. View our current openings.
- Scholarships - Apply for scholarships. ACC's Foundation awards nearly $1 million in scholarships each year
- Student Emergency Fund - If you find yourself in need, ACC can provide assistance
Plan Ahead: Think About Your End Goals
Thinking ahead to what your goals are will help you plan and stay motivated when you're working toward your goals. Have you thought about:
- Graduation - when will do you want to complete your program? This will help you plan how many courses to take each semester.
- Career - knowing what career or type of career you want will help you pick your pathway and your major. Career Services at ACC can help you narrow it down if you're still unsure.
- Transfer - if you think you may want to transfer and continue your education after your graduate, talk to our Transfer Services team. They can make sure you are taking the courses that will transfer to your major and help you navigate the transfer process.
