Shared Visions: Tactile Art Exhibition

Nathan Abels’ Painting 1 and Katie Caron’s Ceramics 1 students were challenged this fall to create interactive tactile works of art to be displayed alongside works from students from the CCB. Shared Visions: Tactile Art Exhibition explore a variety of art including installations, ceramics and mixed media.
Invited artist Liz Quan will be also exhibiting alongside ACC students. Students visited her exhibition downtown in late September called Shape, Play and Space. She then came to the ACC ceramics department to mentor and critique ceramics student’s projects for the Tactile Art Exhibition.
Tactile artist Ann Cunningham has been working with students from the Colorado Center for the Blind (CCB) creating ceramic tiles and sculpture which will be on display. Students from both ACC and the CCB will be present at the show’s opening and are excited for the public to experience their interactive works.
The exhibition is at the Colorado Gallery of the Arts and runs November 8-17. The opening reception is Thursday, November 11 from 5-7pm and the closing reception is Thursday, November 18 from 5-7pm.
