"Shared Visions" Tactile Exhibition
Have you ever wanted to touch the art in a gallery? Well, here is your chance! Smooth, rough, bumpy, or prickly? You can discover the different textures of clay and many other creative materials that make up these works of art. Experience art in a new way through this multi-sensory exhibition created by the Colorado Center for the Blind and ACC art students. This annual show is one of our most popular, featuring art you can touch, smell, and hear.
"This exhibition goes beyond observing art. In this photo, a class visit becomes a learning opportunity. What is it like to experience art when you are visually impaired? The students wore a blindfold to better experience the art like their counterparts at the Colorado Center for the Blind. Students talked about the texture, form, and shape of each piece. Allowing them to better understand touch without sight. Even the labels include braille. " -Sangelo
