Arapahoe Community College (ACC) offers a wide variety of associate degree programs to help you on your educational journey whether you want to transfer and continue your education or start your career once you graduate. Associate of Arts and Associate of Fine Arts Degrees at ACC

These degrees are for students looking for a major in liberal arts and who plan to continue to get a bachelor’s degree at a 4-year college or university. Classes are guaranteed to transfer to any 4-year college in Colorado. With an AA degree, you’ll complete 60 credit hours of basic classes at ACC (English, math, science, etc.) and then enter as a junior to complete your bachelors degree at a Colorado 4-year school.

Studies may include coursework in anthropology, art history, business, communications, criminal justice, education, economics, English, geography, history, music, philosophy, political science, psychology, sociology, studio art, and world languages.

Associate of Science and Associate of Engineering Sciences Degrees

These degrees are for students looking for a major in a math or science field and who plan to continue to get a bachelor’s degree at a 4-year college or university. Classes are guaranteed to transfer to any 4-year college in Colorado. With an AS degree, you’ll complete 60 credit hours of basic classes at ACC (English, math, science, etc.) and then enter as a junior to complete your bachelor degree at a Colorado 4-year school.

Studies may include coursework in biology, chemistry, fermentation sciences, geology, mathematics, physics and psychology.

Associate of Applied Science Degrees

An Associate of Applied Science Degree will prepare you for employment or advance your current career. These programs are not intended to transfer to bachelor degree programs, but certain courses may be accepted toward a bachelor’s degree at some institutions. Students are encouraged to discuss career goals and educational objectives with an Advisor prior to enrolling in these programs.

Studies may include coursework in accounting, business administration, construction management, criminal justice, game design, graphic design, illustration, interior design, journalism, law enforcement, mortuary science, nursing, ophthalmic technology, paralegal, paramedicine, photography, and technology.

Associate of General Studies

This degree is an affordable way for students to design a pathway to a bachelor’s degree at a specific 4-year college or university. Students will work with their advisor and the receiving institution to customize required and transferable courses.

To earn an AGS degree from ACC, you must complete 39 general education courses and 21 elective courses.

Studies may include coursework in English, communication, math, arts, humanities, and sciences.
