Colorado PERA & Supplemental Retirement Plans
APT staff, classified staff, faculty, non-student hourly and instructors are required to contribute to Colorado PERA at a fixed percentage of their earnings and do not contribute to Social Security. ACC / CCCS student employees are not eligible to participate in PERA. ACC / CCCS offers 3 tax-deferred investment plans, including 401(k), 403(b) and 457.

We provide professional development and enrichment opportunities for our staff, faculty, and instructors to help them grow personally and professionally through our Center for Professional Enrichment and Human Resources department.

Full-time APT & Faculty Positions
Benefits for administrative, professional, and technical (APT) staff and faculty are administered through the SBCCOE Trust. Effective July 1, 2015, employees in APT positions that are budgeted at .75 FTE or more are eligible for benefits beginning on their date of hire. Information regarding benefits can be found at the CCCS Employee Benefits site. Find additional information regarding leave accruals in BP 3-60. Non-classified, benefit-eligible employees are eligible for tuition assistance.
AP 3-45 and AP 3-55 provide information regarding salary placement and adjustments.
Instructor and Hourly Positions
Medical insurance is offered to instructors and other variable-hour employees who have worked, on average, at least 30 hours per week in a 12-month period. ACC / CCCS uses an initial 12-month measurement period to determine medical benefit eligibility and a 12-month standard measurement period. Hourly staff generally do not meet this average since hourly staff cannot work more than 28 hours each week. Additional information can be found within BP 3-10 and at the CCCS Employee Benefits site under “Instructor & Variable Hour Employee Benefit Information.”
Sick leave is granted in accordance with SB20-205, Sick Leave for Employees, accrued at one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
ACC offers an Instructor Advancement Program (IAP), which allows instructors to achieve Level II and Level III status when all requirements for each level have been met.
Student Hourly Positions
Student employees are not eligible for medical insurance benefits through ACC/CCCS. Student employees are enrolled and contribute to a TIAA-CREF account when enrolled in less than six credits at ACC.

Filing a Complaint
Any person who believes they have been subjected to a civil rights violation should follow System Procedure (SP) 19-60 to report their concerns. CCCS/ACC will act on any complaint brought to the attention of the Title IX/EO Coordinator or Deputy Coordinator that is made under this procedure.

The College has designated Angela Johnson, Director of Human Resources, as its Affirmative Action Officer, Equal Opportunity Coordinator, and Title IX Coordinator, with the responsibility to coordinate its civil rights compliance activities and grievance procedures.
